Wolves have signed Ivory Coast international Ghislain Konan on a one-year deal.
The left-back arrives following the departure of David Moller Wolfe on deadline day and is reunited with head coach Cesar Peixoto, who he played under at Gil Vicente last season.
The 30-year-old brings experience of the top level in Portugal and France and arrives at Molineux having represented his nation at the World Cup last summer, playing three times as the Ivory Coast reached the knockout stages in North America.
As a youngster, Konan played 57 times for Vitoria in Portugal, where he broke into senior football, and was one game short of 100 appearances for Reims during his four years in Ligue 1.

Having experienced the Saudi Pro League with Al-Nassr and Al-Fayha, and following a brief spell in Spain with Burgos, Peixoto signed him at Gil Vicente, where he played 31 times and helped them to European qualification last season.
As an international, Konan won the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations – one of four major tournaments he has represented the Ivory Coast at, the most recent being the World Cup in North America.
Executive chairman Nathan Shi: “Ghislain was a player Cesar identified earlier in the window and he remained an option for us should David’s situation change. We understood David’s desire to play regularly and were able to facilitate that move, knowing we had a player available who Cesar knows well and trusts.
“Having worked with Cesar and his staff at Gil Vicente, Ghislain already understands the demands of the coaching team, the playing style and how they want the team to operate. That familiarity should help him settle quickly, and we’ll give him all the support he needs as he adapts to the club and English football.”
Head coach Cesar Peixoto said: “I’m pleased because Ghislain’s a good player and an experienced international. We were lucky at Gil Vicente to have him, and I think he has the quality to play at this level because he’s played at the highest level before. He gives us capacity to stay competitive with two players per position, like I want.
“I look to the squad in the same way, because the Championship is a tough season, 46 games, and we have to have quality options to change the players. If you are competitive in the week, you’re going to stay competitive at the weekend against opponent teams.
“To understand my idea of the game is easier because he played with me last year and he has a similar idea of the game, so the process is easier for him. He’s a strong guy with a lot of physicality and he’ll quickly be an option to play.”
Technical director Matt Jackson said: “Cesar spoke about Ghislain’s great personality and his real desire to play football. He has quality and is a top international player. He's got great physicality and great enthusiasm to play, so they couldn't speak highly enough of him, and from the contact I've had with him, he’s been nothing but professional.
“He’s a really good player who has played at the highest level and should be a really good addition for us. He has high expectations and wants us back at the highest level – that's his ambition for us. He’s delighted to be with Cesar and his team again and just wants to get going. We're delighted to have him here.”
