17th July 2010 | Born in Bury, Trippier’s career began with Manchester City, coming through the club’s youth system and winning the FA Youth Cup, to signing professional terms in 2007 and featuring for the first-team on a pre-season tour of the USA in 2010.

8th January 2011 | Either side of his Manchester City friendly bow, Trippier spent time on loan with Barnsley to gain senior experience in the Championship. He would feature 44 times for the Tykes, scoring twice.

19th September 2012 | Trippier moved to Burnley ahead of the 2011/12 season, initially on loan, before his switch was made permanent shortly after being nominated for the Championship Player of the Month award in December 2011.

29th October 2013 | After winning Burnley’s Player of the Year award in his first season, he would go on to be an ever-present in his second campaign, being named in the Championship PFA Team of the Year.

9th March 2014 | Trippier starred once again the following season to earn a consecutive PFA Team of the Year nod, while also helping guide the Clarets to Premier League promotion.

18th September 2015 | The right-back signed for Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur in June 2015 but did not make a start for Spurs before Christmas as he was eased into the team by Mauricio Pochettino.

6th February 2016 | Trippier’s first goal for Tottenham arrived in February 2016 as the defender met Dele Alli’s cross to net the winner in a 1-0 Premier League victory over Watford at White Hart Lane.

13th June 2017 | After representing England several times at youth level, Trippier made his senior bow following the end of his debut Premier League campaign, as he starts against France in Paris.

5th August 2017 | Following Kyle Walker’s move to Manchester City, Trippier became Spurs’ first-choice right-back for the 2017/18 season and committed his future to the club with a new five-year deal.

1st November 2017 | Trippier impressed at right-back during the 2017/18 campaign, receiving particular praise for his display in a 3-1 Champions League win over Real Madrid.

11th July 2018 | One of Trippier’s biggest moments on the international stage came as he put England ahead in their 2018 FIFA World Cup semi-final against Croatia with a stunning free-kick.

11th July 2018 | Although England would go on to lose in the semi-finals, Trippier was hailed as one of the Three Lions’ best performers during the competition.

1st June 2019 | Back at club level the following season, Trippier played an important role for Tottenham as they reached the final of the 2019 Champions League, which ended in defeat to fellow Premier League outfit Liverpool.

1st September 2019 | His performances for Spurs alerted the attention of clubs from across Europe, and Trippier would leave north London in summer 2019 to join Atletico Madrid, becoming the club’s first English player in 95 years.

8th October 2020 | Trippier captained England for the first time in a 3-0 friendly victory over Wales at Wembley, assisting the team’s second goal with a cross for then-Wolves skipper Conor Coady.

23rd May 2021 | Spending the duration of the Covid-19 pandemic in Madrid, Trippier marked his time with Atleti by lifting the first major trophy of his career as he claimed the 2020/21 La Liga title.

11th July 2021 | Trippier provided the assist for Luke Shaw’s opener in the final of Euro 2020 at Wembley, but the Three Lions would go on to heartbreakingly lose on penalties to Italy.

8th January 2022 | The defender moved back to the Premier League in January 2022, becoming the club’s first senior signing under their current ownership and boss Eddie Howe – spearheading a new era at St James’ Park.

13th February 2022 | Trippier soon became one of Newcastle’s star players and scored his first goal for the club from a trademark free kick against Aston Villa. However, the defender also broke his foot in the same game.

24th November 2022 | After receiving rave reviews for his performances for Newcastle, Trippier was back with England for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, with the team’s campaign ending in the quarter-finals.

21st January 2023 | As one of Eddie Howe’s most trusted players at St James’ Park, Trippier signed a new long-term contract with Newcastle in January 2023. As captain, Trippier was also named Newcastle’s Player of the Year that season.

14th July 2024 | Trippier experienced more international heartbreak with England after being part of the squad which once again lost in the finals of a European Championships, this time to Spain.

16th March 2025 | A proud moment at club level came in March last year as the defender’s assist helped Newcastle lift the Carabao Cup and claim their first domestic trophy in 70 years at Wembley.

10th March 2026 | With Trippier acting as Newcastle’s lynchpin and captain over the past few seasons, Newcastle would become Champions League regulars, with his most recent game in the competition coming back in March against Barcelona.

17th May 2026 | Trippier was given a special guard of honour ahead of the final home game of his Newcastle career against West Ham United, with the Magpies running out 3-1 winners at St James’ Park last month.
