Mosquera | ‘We tried to do everything’

Yerson Mosquera was frustrated Wolves couldn’t do more against Sunderland, as points were shared at Molineux.

The Old Gold came into the game on the back of three successive Premier League defeats, but were arguably the better side against 12th-placed Sunderland, making them work all throughout the ninety minutes.

With a change in tactics at the break, Mosquera was disappointed he couldn’t do more for the side but urges the fans to continue in believing.

On taking a point from Sunderland

“This was a really hard game. We tried to do everything. I want to score.

“I want to show my best self and I have to score.”

On changing position in the second half

“When I played there [at right-back], I tried to attack a little bit more. I tried to create more chances.

“I need to work a little bit more in the in the last part, in the last ball, the last pass as well. But I want to score.

“If I don't have a chance, then I try to put an assist in for the other guys. I want to do my best.”

On dealing with 10-men Sunderland

“It's really difficult, because when they have 10 players, it's more difficult. They try to stay close. We need to create a little bit more chance outside.

“When we want to pass the ball inside and have two or three players close, it's really difficult. I know we have a lot of quality, but when you try to find them it’s really hard.”

On support from the Wolves fans

“I just want to say thank you for everything because they come with us everywhere.

“They support us and, of course, they are very frustrated, but we're going to try our best, be our best self for them, and the result is not with us, but they need to believe in us.

“These are the next steps, the next season we want to try to push up again, but for now thank you, everyone.”
