Hugo Bueno was frustrated that Wolves couldn’t respond with a positive result against Tottenham Hotspur, after a late goal subjected the Old Gold to a third straight loss.
With relegation confirmed last week, Wolves wanted to bounce back from recent defeats on the road, but after Spurs took the lead, the Old Gold couldn’t find a way back into the contest.
Four games of the 2025/26 campaign remain, and Hugo Bueno, one of Wolves’ consistent performers this term, reflected on the 1-0 reverse and his mentality going into the season run-in.
On his Spurs reflections
“Of course it is tough to take again because I think the lads did a really good job. It was a great effort and it was a fight – we knew the intensity was going to be really high because they had to win.
“Basically, they are in a really hard moment as well, so I think we matched that. We did our best, but we always missed the final third pass and at the end if you don’t score, you don’t get results.”
"To give up is not an option."

On fighting until the end
“After the two tough games we played a couple weeks before, to come here and see the stadium full, you know you have to give everything for the fans, for the club, for all of us.
“It’s hard at the moment but the thing that we are never going to do is just give up. That’s not an option. We have four more games to go and get the best results possible.”
On his personal showings
“Of course, you have some bad days but for me it’s not an option [to give up]. Sometimes you can wake up without the energy you want, but the first time I put this shirt on, put my training kit on, you give everything. I try to do my best and then the next thing the next day, it’s just how I am, how I feel and hopefully I can keep going like this.”

On building to the future
“We are building something. Of course, it is hard with all the atmosphere, environment, the situation, it’s not easy but we are training well.
“Every day we wake up and try to be better. Of course, the results are not coming. I think on Saturday we showed a better face of us, and we have to keep going like this, but for sure we’re building something.”
