Matheus Cunha has been voted the club’s SUDU Player of the Month for August after making an impressive start to the new Premier League season.
Ahead of switching to the number 10 shirt for the remainder of the campaign, Cunha was part of the Wolves team which picked up a point from their opening three matches of the new top flight season, while also progressing into the third round of the Carabao Cup.
Cunha played his part in all three Premier League outings, with the Brazilian putting in a typical showing in the opening game of the season away at Arsenal before getting his first goal of the new term in the home defeat to Chelsea.
After being rested for the cup game at home to Burnley, he was then key to Wolves gaining their first point of 2024/25 putting in another exciting display away at the City Ground against Nottingham Forest last time out.
The SUDU Player of the Month award for August was a tight-run contest, with Cunha coming out on top by a handful of votes ahead of Mario Lemina.
The Brazilian took 19.9% of the supporter vote on the Wolves App, while the captain claimed 18.9%. Jorgen Strand Larsen (11.2%) was in third while Yerson Mosquera (9.7%) came fourth.
