In the month he scored two crucial goals in the Emirates FA Cup, Matheus Cunha has been voted the club’s Monster Player of the Month for January.
Wolves enjoyed an unbeaten January, beating rivals West Bromwich Albion in the FA Cup, after seeing off Brentford via a replay in the same competition and drawing at Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League.
Cunha played his part in all four results, with his extra time penalty in the replay against the Bees proving decisive in the cup journey, after he led the line tirelessly for 10-man Wolves in the original tie.
That penalty set up the trip to the Hawthorns and he rounded off victory there with a cool finish underneath the goalkeeper, before celebrating in front of the packed away end.
Cunha was comfortably voted Wolves’ top performer for the month, ahead of Pedro Neto in second and Tommy Doyle in third.
