Wolves have been drawn at home to Blackpool in the second round of the 2023/24 Carabao Cup.
Now under the leadership of Gary O’Neil, the Old Gold will take on the League One side at Molineux during the week commencing 28th August – in between the away Premier League matches against Everton and Crystal Palace.
The Seasiders got their 2023/24 Carabao Cup campaign underway yesterday with a 2-0 win over Derby County at Pride Park in the first round thanks to a pair of goals from Jake Beesley.
Wolves reached the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup last season, following wins against Preston North End, Leeds United and Gillingham all coming at Molineux.
It will be the first time since the 2014/15 Championship season that the Old Gold have faced Blackpool, when a Kenny Jackett-led side secured a win at home following a goalless draw at Bloomfield Road.
Wolves are going into a first season under O’Neil and will begin their Premier League campaign away at Manchester United on Monday evening before returning to Molineux for a first home game under the former AFC Bournemouth boss against Brighton & Hove Albion the following Saturday.
A confirmed date and kick-off time of the second round match against Blackpool, as well as ticket information, will be announced in due course.
