Adama Traore was pleased with his contribution in Wolves’ final Molineux goal of the season, despite it not proving to be the winning goal against Everton.
The Spaniard’s trademark run took him past two Everton challenges, creating an opportunity out of nothing, and once his shot was saved by Jordan Pickford, Hee Chan Hwang was on hand to turn home the rebound. Wolves passed up opportunities to make the game safe before Everton’s late equaliser, but Traore is focused on signing off on a positive note on the final day at Arsenal next week.
On signing off at Molineux
“We always want to give the best to our fans. We had the chance to win the game and didn’t finish it, we weren’t able to win it. It’s the last game [at home] and we did our best to please our fans.”
On being held to a point
“It was a tough game. We had chances to take the game away. We didn’t and this is football, it’s the Premier League, a tough, difficult league and in moments they can punish you.
“We had a chance to finish the game and were punished in the last minute. We have to keep working for the last game, we have to keep improve and learn about the game.”
On his role in the goal
“I know my strengths and I’m trying to give the best to the team. I try to use one of my qualities and it went well, and Hee Chan [Hwang] scored. Even if I didn’t score, it’s good for the team.
“I’m not happy because we didn’t take the three points in the end, but we have to keep working and keep improving as a team.”
On Neves’ performance
“I don’t know if it’s a goodbye, all I know is he’s with us now. He’s a great player, great person, great captain. He’s an example for the team. He’s been many years here and is one of the important player who has passed in the team.
“Whatever, if he stays or goes, I will wish him all the best because he’s a great person and player.”
