Traore | 'We never surrender, it doesn’t matter the situation'

Adama Traore says the Wolves players and head coach have the same mentality, to keep fighting regardless of circumstances, which will stand them in good stead for the remainder of the season.

The old gold defied the odds to earn victory at Southampton on Saturday and now go into the clash with AFC Bournemouth on the back of consecutive victories for the first time this season. The ten men battled hard at St Mary’s and earned the victory late in the day thanks in part to Traore’s impact off the bench, and the fighting spirit on show pleased the winger, but also his fellow Spaniard Julen Lopetegui in the dugout.

On the right mentality

“We always have to believe, we never surrender, it doesn’t matter the situation, we have to keep fighting. That’s the mentality we have and that’s the mentality the gaffer wants.

“It was amazing. I think the team had very good spirit, we had one man less, but we kept going, kept fighting and the result came. We believed and, in the end, we got the result.”

On the season turning around

“We have for sure [turned a corner]. We have to keep believing. The game it was amazing, how we came back, and we have to keep going. Enjoy it, we won, and we keep on working.”

On a big day for Joao Gomes

“He’s a young lad, he has to keep working. He’s a great player and it was a day for him, he made the day for him. I’m so happy for him and we keep going.”
