Adama | 'Lopetegui is going to help us'

Adama Traore insists Julen Lopetegui will have the full belief of the Wolves players as they work hard to turn their season around following a short break ahead of the World Cup.

Those players who are not heading out to Qatar have been given a short period to rest before they return to Compton Park later this month to resume preparations under their new head coach, and Traore believes the squad will be doing everything possible to improve ahead of getting back on the Molineux pitch.

On possible penalty appeal against Arsenal

“I can’t really talk about the penalty, as we know the referees today have a difficult job, and it’s difficult for them, but it’s their decision and I can’t talk about what I can’t control, so I try not to focus on the referee.

“Maybe we should have had a penalty, but they have to see, and if they’ve made the wrong decision, then – like us – they have to improve, because we like to improve every day. It’s about that.”

On turning Wolves’ season around

“All we can do is improve, keep working hard, and focus on the next game. That’s all we have to do. Now we have a big break, and we have the new coach, so I want to say thank you to the last coach and welcome to the new coach.

“After the World Cup we will work hard and keep believing in this team, for sure.”

On working under Lopetegui

“I’ve not had the time to talk to him, but he’s an excellent manager. We know he’s going to help us and whatever he wants to say to us, we have to believe in him, work hard together and get out of this situation.”

On Hugo Bueno’s impact

“He’s amazing. I’ve known about him for a long time and he’s spent a lot of time training with the team and working in the gym. He’s got great discipline and has worked really hard on his body, so I know his mentality and I’m so happy for him.

“He’s still very young and has a lot of hunger to improve himself, and I’m so happy for him, because that’s the way you need to be.”
