The 20-year-old Colombian became Bruno Lage’s first signing as Wolves’ new head coach when he made the move to Molineux last week, and in his first interview after joining the club, Mosquera insists he will be working hard to make the most of any opportunities which come his way.
On signing for Wolves
“I’m very happy. Wolves are a very good club, and it’ll be a good test for me to come to England. I want to show the club what I’m capable of.
“They offered me excellent conditions in terms of their football project and I’m highly motivated to come to Wolverhampton and do what I love.
“Wolves are competing in the best league in the world. They compete against the biggest teams, and I think this will help me a lot to grow as a person and as a footballer.”
On celebrating his move
“I got the call not too long ago. All the paperwork took a bit of time, but when they finally confirmed that everything was fine, I was very happy and I celebrated with my family.
“We had a nice typical dinner and a little party. We had a good time together.”
On getting his chance in the Premier League
“I have been working hard to be given that type of opportunity and I want to make the most of every chance I can get.
“It’s fantastic that the club could already see my talent, what I’ve got to offer to my teammates and I can’t be happier. Thank you Lord for the chance that Wolves have given me.
“I'm extremely motivated to do well at Wolves, because many footballers in Colombia can just dream of going to the Premier League, the best league and most competitive league in the world.”

On speaking with other Colombian Premier League stars
“Having great players as a reference helps me a lot, because they’re showing me the way, how much hard work I must put in, and how consistent I must be to succeed.
“I have talked with some of them. They did tell me that it’s not easy to play in England, but that with discipline, perseverance and focus, many good things can happen.
“And yes, I do need to learn English as quickly as possible, because I know it’s fundamental there.”
On what Wolves supporters can expect
“My leadership, my aerial game, my speed over long or short distances and my strength in one-on-one duels. I also think my decision-making is going to be fundamental too.
“I hope the fans will trust me and give me their full support. I promise that I will give my very best in each training session and in every match.
“I hope to be with them soon in Wolverhampton to make them very proud and happy.”
