Traore | On Jose's first goal for Wolves and dedicating win to the fans

Adama Traore added another assist to his tally as he made it a third goalscoring contribution in as many games for Wolves as he laid the ball on a plate for Willian Jose to get his first of the season in victory over Sheffield United.

The forward, who played a more central role in the Wolves attack during Saturday evening’s victory inside of his usual position on the wing, dedicated the win – which put his side over the 40 point margin – to his injured teammates as well as the fans who have not been able to attend an old gold match in more than 13 months.

On fighting for a victory against the Blades

“Always when we play against them it is a tough game. We fight through the 90 minutes and we created chances.

“Personally, I think there were a few actions I could have finished better, but we are happy with the three points and we go again.

“Like I said, I think I should finish better a few actions, but I will keep working to keep improving myself as I want to keep growing as a player.

“It has been a tough year for the team with the injuries. But this win is for them and also for the fans because they can't be here. This is for all of them and we will try to keep working towards the end of the season.”

On Jose getting off the mark

“I’m so happy for him. He’s been working hard, he’s had a few chances, but it’s about working, taking the chances and it will go in, like it did today. I’m so happy for him.”

On adapting to different positions

“It's about working and taking the moments. It’s about time with teammates, and I’m trying to work.

“Today, I played in a slightly different position, like a striker. But it doesn’t matter where I play, each position the manager gives us different things.

“I try to grow in each position the gaffer puts me on the pitch. It’s how I do, and I keep working. I enjoy it, and I always enjoy it when we win, that is the main thing.”

On taking enjoyment from breaking the 40-point barrier

“No, definitely not. We are always focused on the next game, and it doesn’t matter how many points we have, the mentality is about winning every game.

“It doesn’t matter which situation we have through the game, we will fight until the end like we have been doing through this year.

“The target is to win every game. It does not matter which team is in front of us, we’ll work hard to keep improving. This is our mentality.”
