The Belgian was shifted into defence against the Foxes due to Willy Boly’s injury and helped his side keep a clean sheet, but despite the upturn in recent results, Dendoncker believes that there are still areas which can be improved on, not least in front of goal.
On playing out a draw against Leicester
“I think we played a good game. We had some chances and had the best ones to win the game. It wouldn’t have been stolen if we won it.
“It's a clean sheet which is important for the defence and for their confidence, and we did it pretty well.
“There are always things to improve on but, overall, we can be satisfied.”
On four points from last two matches
“It’s been against two really good teams. Four points out of six against Arsenal and Leicester is something positive and we have to keep in mind the game we played on Sunday.
“We created some good chances and we have to make sure it goes in. We just need to be a little bit sharper in front of goal.”
“We know the schedule we have is a tight one. We’ve got Southampton in the cup at home, then we’re going to Southampton in the next Premier League game, and they are a very good side.”
On the evolution of the squad
“When players leave it's not easy to replace them because they are used to playing in the way we play. When new players come it always takes some time to adapt. It's always difficult.
“We have had some injuries, and we have [Daniel] Podence and Boly injured now, but we have Jonny back which is a huge one for us because he's so important to the style we play.
“We are evolving, we are coming back to where we want to be, step by step. The season is long and we have to keep going this way, work hard in training and everything will be OK.”
