Reward for Nuno Espirito Santo’s men in beating Crystal Palace 1-0 at Molineux on Friday evening will be the visit to Victory Park.
The draw for the fourth round took place immediately before West Ham United’s visit to Stockport County on Monday night and will see Wolves face the National League North outfit as one of 16 ties in the latest stage of the world’s oldest national cup competition.
The pair have famously only ever met in the 1986 FA Cup, where Wolves, who had fallen to the fourth tier after successive relegations from the top-flight, lost to the non-league side following two replays. The original tie on the road ended 1-1 before the same scoreline was played out at Molineux in the first replay three days later.
In the second replay, the teams faced each other at a neutral venue – Bolton Wanderer’s old Burnden Park gound. With new signings Steve Bull and Andy Thompson watching from the sidelines, Wolves lost 3-0 and dropped out at the first round of the competition.
Further details on the cup tie, which is due to be played in the weekend of 23rd/24th January, will be confirmed in due course.
The winner of the tie between Wolves and Chorley will face either Southampton, Shrewsbury Town or Arsenal in the fifth round.
