Coady heaps praise on Jota

Captain Conor Coady praised Diogo Jota's work rate after the Portuguese forward continued his clinical week in front of goal by scoring twice in the 3-0 Premier League victory over Norwich City.

Jota's first-half brace against the Canaries added to the hat-trick he scored in the midweek Europa League tie with Espanyol, and made it five goals in four days in front of his home crowd for the popular forward. Coady highlighted the all-round game of his team-mate, though, as key to Wolves growing into a game which Daniel Farke's Norwich had started brightly.

On Jota’s performance

“We know Diogo scores goals, but it's everything else that he brings to the team; everything out of possession, how hard he works to win the ball back.

“We saw it numerous times against Norwich, where he's collecting the ball in his own half and running the full length of the pitch to get us up the field, so he's a phenomenal footballer and it's a pleasure to have him here.”

On a fourth clean sheet in a row

“It's brilliant - that's what we want to do. I'm sure a lot of people will mention the big man (Willy Boly) being back, and he's fantastic, but I think it's the whole team, not just the back three or back five.

“It's the whole team - it's better for us all when we're keeping clean sheets, and that's something we live for really.”

On the overall performance against Norwich

“We knew how tough it was going to be, because it was hard when we went to their place. We know they like to get bodies in the middle of the pitch and move the ball in tight areas, they've got some really good footballers as well.

“I thought we started off a bit sloppily and they caught us by surprise a couple of times, but once we got a foothold in the game, we were on top and we deserved the win in the end.”
