Neves praises Wolves' attitude

Ruben Neves praised the attitude of his team mates after Wolves came from behind to win at Norwich City.

Despite not being at their best, Wolves ensured the Canaries didn’t run away with the game before the break, going in with a slender lead. Then, in a much-improved second period, Wolves took control of proceedings, scoring two goals of their own to secure victory, after a gutsy fightback at Carrow Road.

On a big win

“What a win. It was a very difficult game, a really hard stadium to come to. Norwich played really well, one of the best teams in the Premier League, playing the ball. We knew that before the game.

“They started really well the game. Then we had to react to the result, chase the result and try to score. We came to half-time thinking that we had to do better in the second-half, to do something good for us.

“We started the second-half with a different attitude, being us, and fortunately we changed the game and the result, and we go out of here with a really important three points.”

On what was missing in the first 45

“Maybe the aggressivity, they were winning all the duals, they were winning all the second balls. For us to put our game on, we can’t allow that to happen. So, I think we changed that at half-time, we started winning the duals, started going on the counter attack, and that made the difference in the second-half.”

On the belief in the group

“It’s just about staying in the game, 1-0 you can change the result in ten minutes, and we had 45 to do it. So, it’s all about being organised all the time, being in the game and scoring when we have chances to do it.

“We scored, we had two or three chances to even score the third goal and we go out really happy with these three points, because it’s really important for us, even after that Tottenham game that we played so well, and the result was not what we deserved.”
