Traore: Hard work paying dividends

Adama Traore is proud of the work rate of his Wolves team mates after the side extended their unbeaten Premier League run to eight matches with victory over AFC Bournemouth.

The lightening quick winger was heavily involved in proceedings once again on Saturday as he caused havoc in the Cherries’ defence, before placing the ball on a plate for Raul Jimenez to secure his third goal in as many games and his 14th of the season, with Traore now up to six assists this campaign.

Following the match, the 23-year-old, who was sporting a striking new haircut following the international break, also spoke about the influence veteran midfielder Joao Moutinho has on the squad after scoring the opening goal on the day he signed a new contract at the club.

On victory at the Vitality

“In the first-half we worked so hard. We knew Bournemouth was a tough team, and it’s a tough pitch as well, so we’ve been working so hard throughout the 90 minutes.

“Maybe in the second-half they did have some chances, but I’m happy because of the performances from the whole team.

“Not only today, we’ve been working so hard in different games as well. People were a little bit nervous because at the start of the season because we had some draws, but the work is there and the passion is there, not only from the players but the managers, the physios.

“It’s a new situation for us all this season because we have the Europa League now, so we have many games in one week, so it’s important everyone is getting involved and I think all the team has been working great.”

On fighting spirit in the Wolves squad

“Whatever is the team, whatever is the situation, we have to work hard. This team spirit is whatever is the moment, whatever is the time, we fight until the end and this is what we try to do

“No game is easy, so I’m happy because of the performance of the whole team, but we have to keep going.”

On a goal straight from the training ground

“I’ve been speaking with Moutinho on different aspects and I’ve been speaking with players and with the manager on different aspects of the game.

“I’ve been playing in three different positions and different positions demand different tasks, so it’s important to listen to the players who are around, to listen to the managers who are around because they can help you, and this is what I do.

“Listen, learn and grow – these are the important things for me because each game has different situations, so it’s important to communicate with the people who surround you.”

On Joao Moutinho’s influence

“I’m so happy for him. Everyone knows he’s a great player, I think he’s amazing, so I’m so happy we have him and of course his experience as well.

“I’ve been speaking with him and he helps a lot the young lads in the team, not only me, but Vinagre and all the players that are young.”

On his new look

“Sometimes I like to change my hair, so it’s a fresh thing.”
