Gibbs-White calls for a clinical edge from Wolves

Morgan Gibbs-White admitted Wolves paid the price for not taking their chances as they slipped to a 1-0 defeat against Braga in the first game of their Europa League group campaign.

Wolves created several openings in what was an closely-fought encounter at Molineux, only for the Portuguese visitors to score the game’s only goal on the counter attack with 19 minutes left to play. Gibbs-White, who was replaced by Joao Moutinho shortly before the goal, thought that Wolves were good value for at least something from their opening group match.

On the performance

“It was a frustrating game. We felt like we dominated the game and the chances weren’t really coming our way, so it was frustrating.

“I think we played well – we had more shots than them, more shots on target as well, but it’s just about taking those chances.”

On the Europa League standard

“Fair play to Braga – they came out fighting away from home. Like I said though, I think we played well and implemented what the manager wants from us – on another day we’d be coming away with a victory, but unfortunately today we couldn’t.”

On the busy fixture schedule

“It’s a massive test, playing Thursday and Sunday every week. We’re a small squad but everyone is raring to go.

“It’s taken its toll and we’re tired, but we’re still working hard and still ready to go for the next game on Sunday. We always believe – we go again Sunday and hopefully we can get the victory at Palace.”
