The wide man set up the Portuguese for one of Wolves’ three crucial away goals in Torino on Thursday night – the second time the pair have combined in the competition this season. The assist capped another eye-catching performance from the in-form Spaniard, who is continually looking to improve further.
On his impressive form
“I’m happy to give an assist to Diogo. We’ve been speaking, he tells me ‘when you get in the area watch me, you have time, before your speed you have time to pick a pass’, so this is what we do and I’m happy to keep working, keep helping the team into the next game.
“I think it’s a very important week (coming up). We’ve been focused before, we know it’s two hard weeks and I’m happy because I like to play football and I’m ready for the next one.”
On the away goals
“It’s always important when you score and win, and more when you’re away. We have to focus now on the next game, watch our errors, because we did have errors, and after, keep growing and keep working hard.
“I think whatever it is, 3-1 or 3-0, I think the game is never over because it’s 90 minutes to play and this is why we’ll fight like we fought here.
“The important thing is wherever we play, home or outside, of course I prefer playing at home, but whether it’s home or outside, it doesn’t matter, we work hard and fight for the win.”
On the evening’s work
“I’m happy to be here, to be honest tonight the team has been great. We’ve been working so hard.
“It’s a good result, maybe with a couple of errors, but this is how we are. We focus on the next game on Sunday and then after, the game on Thursday.
