Three points please Dendoncker most

While delighted with his first goal for the club, Leander Dendoncker says the three points at Goodison Park meant the most to him come full-time.

The Belgian lashed home his first Wolves goal to put the cap on a thoroughly impressive 3-1 victory over Everton. Wolves put in another all-round impressive performance on the road, which Dendoncker played a massive part in, and continued the positivity around Nuno Espirito Santo’s squad.

On the win’s importance

“The win is the thing I enjoy the most because it’s difficult to win here. It’s important, taking three points here is not easy. It was a tough game, especially the first-half, it was quite difficult to manage the game.

“It’s a difficult game, away at Everton. When you get a penalty in the first minutes, it’s always easier to start the game when you are in the lead and it was deserved.

“We tried to keep on going at 1-1 and we scored on a set piece which is important. Second-half we managed it quite well and scored the third goal, and after it we controlled the game well and could have scored a fourth, but 3-1 is a nice result.”

On the performance

“We try to play every game how we do every time. We played with a lot of courage, tried to be brave, tried to be well-organised and play. We created chances and it was a very nice win.

“We have a team who works a lot, we try to be well-organised and when we have the ball we have a good transition. I think we have a lot of running players and technical players up front who are quite fast. It helps the team. We try to be well balanced.

“They have a good crowd, nice stadium, so it’s difficult to play here, especially to win. I think it was deserved which made it enjoyable.”

On personal display

“I could have scored in the first-half, which was maybe easier than the goal I scored, but I’m happy for the team and three points. Eventually I scored, but the three points are the most important.

“I try to do my best all the time. I can’t do more than that, I try to do the same, working hard for the team. I’ll try to keep on going.”
