Jonny praises Wolves fans: "Together we are better"

Jonny Otto is already looking ahead to Wolves’ upcoming fixtures with Leicester and West Ham following Monday night’s difficult defeat at Manchester City.

The Spanish wing-back, who was back playing on the left at the Etihad after being switched onto the right for the visit of Liverpool last week, believed the tough test against the Champions was made even more difficult when City took the lead and Willy Boly was sent off within the first 20 minutes of the match.

On Man City

“It was a game we knew was going to be a very difficult, playing here against Man City. It is true that in the first match against them at home we had a good result.

“But today, the game starts very difficult with the first goal and even more with Boly’s sending off. It made it a little more difficult as we were already losing and had one less man against a team that has more possession.

“It was much more complicated, as we had to stay back which limited our opportunities. It was very difficult against the opponent, but we need to look ahead and focus on the next games.”

On travelling Wolves support

“We already know that the supporters are amazing. They support the team wherever we go, and we always try to give them the best of us and give back that support the fans give to us.

“But we’re simply a ‘pack’ – a team and supporters – and that is the point, together we are better.”

On bouncing back

“We have to have desire. We come from two losses in Premier League, but now we have two consecutive home games against two direct opponents.

“It is important to give a very good performance to our supporters and give them back that love they give to us. Hopefully first with three points against Leicester and then again three points against West Ham.

“Hopefully everything goes well, and we can get six points out of six and keep fighting, because we are having a good campaign.”
