Coady taking positives in the circumstances

Despite a disappointing result at the Premier League champions, Conor Coady was determined to take the positives, given the circumstances of the loss.

A goal down and a man down after 19 minutes against Manchester City, Wolves remained resolute and did themselves justice with a battling display during the remainder of the contest.

On remaining positive

“I thought the boys dug in to be honest. They scored from a cross for the last one, that’s what goes for you when you’re top of the league.

“We had to battle. We were saying, at 2-0 at half time, don’t concede anymore and then we concede off a cross which is disappointing. We’ve got to dust ourselves down and go again now.

“We’ve got a big game next week now, so we dust ourselves this week, make sure we’re ready and try and get them on it.”

On conceding early on

“They’re a top quality side and we left the gaps too big, I think the pass through for Sane was top drawer and then his cross was on a button for Jesus so we’ve got to learn from it, it’s as simple as that.

“To go down early was disappointing from our point of view but then the game got really tough then.”

On the red card

“I didn’t see much of the red card so I don’t really know too much of it. It’s disappointing, Boly’s been a big man mountain for us this year. We’ve got to get this out of our memory quickly and get going for next week.”

On the change at half-time

“We were trying to give Adama a chance on the break. Bringing Adama on was something that we wanted to do in terms of the pace and something the manager wanted to do.

“We were trying to keep them in front of us as much as we possibly could because when they get behind you, they usually finish off their chances, so it was a tough night all round.”

On the away support

“They’re amazing. It’s the same every week. We know what we’re going to get from them. We know that they’re a thousand percent behind us, it’s as simple as that.

“We know that they’ll out-sing anybody, home, away, we know what they’re going to do.

“It’s an incredible support that we’ve got and we know we can back them and they’ll back us to the hilt. We can always count on them.”
