Wolves’ second Molineux fixture back in the top flight was an enthralling contest as Willy Boly and Aymeric Laporte both netted as the spoils were shared.
It’s a second point on the board for Wolves and the performance against the reigning champions will give Nuno’s side even more belief that they can be competitive at this level.
“We did a good game in all the moments,” he said. “When we had the ball we did well, created chances and were able to control the game.
“We needed to defend compact to take the spaces away because we were facing the champions of the Premier League, the quality of the team and the manager, it’s very difficult and we only conceded from a set piece.
“We don’t have to prove anything to anyone, just be ourselves. We improved on last week against a fantastic team and a fantastic coach, let’s do it again next week.”
Willy Boly’s first goal of the season from Joao Mouthino’s cross had Wolves ahead in the second half and, despite conceding the equaliser, Nuno was pleased with how his side managed the game.
“I saw many chances and just before the goal a one vs one with Helder. In that moment of the game the momentum was ours.
“When there’s a goal, there’s always a reaction from your opponent. Of course, we have to engage more.
“If there’s a but in our performance, we could improve our possession of the ball. We want to be a team when we have possession we’re in control of the tempo of the game.
“We have to keep possession of the ball, but big cheers to the boys, they were fantastic.”
Wolves were backed by a vocal Molineux which Nuno believes was integral to the performance which earned a point in Saturday’s early kick-off.
“The way the fans received the team was incredible. We must do it again because this is what gives the boys confidence at home.
“Home factor, especially in this competition, is big. We have to be strong at Molineux and the fans are helping. Our fans are special and we appreciate it.”
