We'll Bounce Back

Nuno Espirito Santo will take advantage of a free week on the training pitch to make amends for Wolves’ 2-0 defeat at Craven Cottage on Saturday evening.

A goal in each half gave Fulham the three points and Wolves had no response, meaning they were beaten away from home in the Championship for the first time since October.

With no mid-week fixture, Nuno is pleased he has the opportunity to rid the wrongs from his side in the capital.

“It’s our work to analyse and this week will be good for us because we can breathe and refocus,” he said. “We’re going to fix the problems, we always do it, we’ll find the right solutions.

“The team needs to improve in every aspect, both defence and offensive. We are conceding goals so we'll look at everything as we always do.

“They were the better team and we struggled to go out and get possession, it’s the reality of football and we keep on going. The focus is exactly the same, but we must do better than today.”

There was little between the sides until Ryan Sessegnon opened the scoring for the Cottagers, but Nuno remained happy with the display he saw before the break.

“First-half I think was good, well played by both teams, both teams were organised and creating good football and chances on goal.

“The goal puts them in the best moment and shook us a little bit, then the second-half we started better but Fulham gained control.

“We created a lot of options to finish our actions, but they were not finished. The last pass or cross which gives you control of the game, we must improve because we have to be clinical.”

Diogo Jota came off the bench for Wolves, but Nuno insists he has full faith in his squad as a whole.

“It’s a squad. We count on the players on the bench because everybody is important. The Championship is one of the most difficult competitions in the world, it’s demanding.

“Today, Fulham deserved it. They have good momentum and are a good team.

“Thank you to our fans, we count on them, together we are stronger, we need them and we’re going to show our character. We’ll bounce back,” he added.
