Squad to Depart for Warm Weather Training Camp

The Wolves first team squad will depart for a warm weather training camp in Spain later this evening.

Staff and players will spend a week working and training away from Compton Park as the squad prepares for next Saturday’s Sky Bet Championship fixture against Ipswich Town.

With no midweek fixture, Head Coach, Nuno Espirito Santo, believes that the upcoming week presents a welcome opportunity to give the players a change of scenery and build team spirit ahead of the final few months of the 2017/18 season.

Discussing the training camp, Nuno said: “It was a decision that we made to go to a camp and work in a different environment.

“One of the issues, of course, is the weather. We need vitamin D, we need the sun. We need to work in an environment with better weather conditions.

“The other point is that we’re going to stay together for more time, we’re going to spend 24 hours a day with each other, only us.

“It’s a full week, 24 hours a day, seven days a week so I think it will be very good for us and positive.”

The team’s schedule will remain the same, with training sessions planned for every day ahead of next weekend’s trip to Portman Road.
