Match Preview | Millwall vs Wolves

Once the festivities have been completed, attention turns to the early kick-off at the Den, as Wolves look to continue where they left off prior to Christmas.

Ivan Cavaleiro’s fine strike signed Wolves off for the big day on 55 points, as Ipswich Town were dispatched at Molineux on Saturday. The final whistle brought about the halfway point in the campaign and Wolves have now beaten 17 of the 23 other Championship sides. That victory also extended the lead Wolves held on promotion rivals Cardiff City and Bristol City, with the gap to second place now seven points.

The Opposition

Millwall have proved stern opposition for a number of high-flying Championship sides so far this season, with Sheffield United, Aston Villa and Cardiff City all stumbling against the Lions. December had been a good month for Neil Harris’ men prior to Saturday, after they took seven points from the first nine available. The weekend brought about a defeat on the road at in-form Derby County, who cruised to a 3-0 win.
