We Have To Keep Going

Diogo Jota says that Wolves are the players are taking things game by game despite being top of the Sky Bet Championship after 20 games played.

Wolves have won their last six games in a row and are four points clear at the top of the Championship.

Jota says that despite being top of the Championship, Wolves must keep focussing on every game as they arrive.

He said, “If we stopped here then we know we haven’t won anything yet, so we know we have to keep going.

"The way we keep focussed is by working - the staff are making sure that we work, sometimes we have more days to rest, sometimes not.

“There are a lot of things that we have to manage - it’s just a general phase for us because we know that nothing will become easier from this moment.

“We are a team, we are professional and we know what we have to do.

"Of course when somebody is at the top of the league, you will try to catch them and we have to deal with that.

“It was good to win a derby on Monday and we have more time to rest than the usual - I think we are going o-k, everyone is fine and we are ready for the next game.

“I think that the fans are absolutely incredible - they are supporting us at home and away like we saw at the Birmingham game.

“They are a great part of our team and our club and they are doing a great job to support us.

“Every player likes to play in the big matches - in the derbies, the atmosphere is unbelievable and of course with the win, everything is better.”

Since arriving at Wolves on loan from Athletico Madrid in the Summer, Jota has scored nine goals and set up four.

The 21 year old says that it has been a huge learning experience so far for him and he hopes to continue as the season progresses.

“When I arrived here, I knew that it would change me as a person and as a footballer and of course when I say me, I mean all of the players here that arrived. We are all doing well and we have to keep going,” Jota said.

“When I thought about coming here, I thought that English football would benefit me as a player.

“When I am young, I need to learn from different experiences to become a better player.”
