Leo Bonatini’s eighth minute strike saw off Birmingham City and extended Wolves’ lead over third-placed Bristol City to ten points.
David Stockdale had already denied Ivan Cavaleiro and Diogo Jota, before Bonatini’s vicious strike crossed the line at St Andrew’s.
Harlee Dean would later see red for the hosts as Wolves secured three vital points to start December on a positive note.
