We Have To Do Our Best

Alfred N’Diaye believes Wolves will have to be at their best if they are to take anything from the Etihad Stadium in tonight’s Round Four Carabao Cup tie against Manchester City.

Nuno’s men defeated Yeovil Town, Southampton and Bristol Rovers to reach this stage of the competition and approach tonight’s game in good recent form, winning their last three league outings.

And N’Diaye admitted that City will be a tough opponent but maintained that the team will be going there to compete.

He said: "Preston was the hardest game so far for me, I arrived on September 1 and they have a very good team in my opinion.”

"But we showed our character. It’s good for our confidence.

"City are one of the best teams in Europe. We have to be strong, play together, fight and do our best.

"If we go with a good attitude we can win," he said. "We’re 11, they’re 11, we can win.

"Every game we try to win. We’re not going there to lose, if so we stay at home.

"If not they’ll win for sure because it’s a very good team."

The midfielder has experience of playing against Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City side, facing them in April this year during his time with Hull City.

"It was a hard game, explained N’Diaye. “Our coach was Marco Silva, he tried to block the midfield. They play very well in midfield, David Silva, De Bruyne, lots of players.

"Even the wingers come inside so we have to be strong in the centre of the field.

"I will try to help my team mates. I’m one of the oldest players, I played against Man City and I know how to play against them so I’ll try to help them."
