And the midfielder believes Wolves need to build on the performance to maintain their position at the top of the Sky Bet Championship table.
Speaking after the game, he said: “It was a very good game, a good derby. The atmosphere was fantastic today.
“We knew before the game it would be difficult but we controlled it from the beginning to the end.
“It was a good team. Aston Villa are always a difficult team to play against. If you are at the top of the league or the bottom it is always a difficult game.
“We controlled it throughout and I think it’s one of the best performances this season. Now we need to keep going and keep performing like this.”
Despite the strong performance, Saiss maintained that there is still a lot for the squad to work on.
He said: “We still need to work on some things.
“We are not very, very good. Especially in the last 15 minutes in both halves on Saturday.
“We have to keep the ball more, to control the game more and not concede as many chances.
“We need to stay together with the staff, the players and the fans if we want to try and get into the Premier League.
“We have to stay this way because, game after game, we have to much better.
“Perfection doesn’t exist but we can keep trying to get better and better after every game.
“We will continue to work in the training so we can be confident for the rest of the year.
“I hope at the end of the season we can have a good fiesta to celebrate promotion.”
