Wolves approach the Brewers clash on the back of a 2-0 defeat away at Sheffield United on Wednesday evening, which is only the side’s second defeat of the season.
And Douglas believes there are lessons to be learnt from the midweek defeat as Wolves look to bounce-back immediately this weekend.
“It was a difficult game,” said the defender discussing Wednesday’s fixture. “It’s always hard when a decision like that changes the game so early on so we were up against it right from the start.
“We won’t be too downhearted because we know the squad we’ve got, the confidence we’ve got. It was a blip but we’ll be back.
“We’ll take a lot from the game. The gaffer will look over it and analyse a lot as well.
“We take a lot from every game, especially from the defeats because we need to learn how to rectify that or change our tactics to adapt.
“As soon as Coady was sent off we came under a lot of pressure but we were sustaining that pressure.
“They got the goal and it became an uphill battle from there.
“Before the sending off I thought we were dominating, I don’t think they could get near us.
“If we’d have kept 11 men on the park then I think we would have gone on to win the game.
“There will be games where nothing falls for us and nothing goes our way. It’s just about how we react.
“Luckily we’ve got a game just a matter of days later so we can try to bounce back and look to get back on the right track.”
Douglas maintained that the defeat won’t alter Wolves’ style of play and the squad will approach Saturday’s game with the same approach.
He said: “We’ll still go with the same philosophy, we’re going to go and play football regardless of the pitch.
“That’s our game – get the ball on the deck and play so that’s how we’ll set up and if it’s not working then we’ll resort to other ways and means.
“Expectation levels are high but we need to be realistic. We’re going to have bad games and off days and that’s when we need the backing.
“We’re very much still in it, even this early in the season.
“If you’d have asked us if we’d have been happy with this position after the first quarter of the season then I’m sure we would have been happy.
“We just need to get back winning ways doing what we’re good at and keep the momentum going into the next set of games.”
