Contract Decisions Revealed

News on out-of-contract players

Wolves can today confirm the situation regarding the players out of contract this summer.

The 12-month options will be taken up on midfielders Jack Price and George Saville, and striker Duckens Nazon, whilst discussions are ongoing regarding the option for defender Silvio Sa Pereira.

Richard Stearman and Andi Weimann’s registrations will return to parent clubs Fulham and Derby County respectively.

Discussions are continuing regarding Weimann’s future but there is no offer to make Stearman’s deal permanent.

Defender Mike Williamson and midfielder James Henry, who spent last season on loan with Bolton Wanderers, will not be offered new terms.

“As ever we would like to thank all those players who will be leaving us,” said Sporting Director Kevin Thelwell.

“With Richard and James, they have played their parts at different times in some of the club’s major successes of recent years, and their contributions will always be well remembered.

“Mike was unfortunate to suffer through injury during his 18 months as a player here, but remained a consummate professional throughout, and also made some key contributions during the second half of this season.

“We wish all three players all the very best in their future careers.”

Stearman has made 254 appearances for Wolves, initially on a permanent basis during seven years at Molineux, and then last season's loan spell.

He was part of the team promoted to the Premier League in 2008/09 and then to the Championship in 2013/14, and scored seven goals for Wolves, including the opener in the FA Cup win at Liverpool in January.

Henry had a successful loan spell with Wolves at the end of 2013, going on to sign permanently the following January.

All in all he chalked up 120 appearances during his time at Molineux, scoring 22 goals, and was a mainstay of the team which secured the League One title.

Williamson made a positive impression on loan at Wolves towards the end of 2015, and that stay was made permanent in January, 2016.

He made 11 appearances, this season including the away victories at Stoke City and Leeds United.
