We can beat anyone

Defender says Wolves' cup win will give his side confidence that they can beat anyone in the league.

Kortney Hause believes that Wolves can take momentum from the cup win into the league following their Emirates FA Cup third round win against Stoke City on Saturday.

Hause was one of six players brought into the side by manager Paul Lambert ahead of the trip to the Bet365 Stadium.

“We’ve been in good form and the morale’s high around the camp,” Hause explained.

“We know that we've got the ability in our squad - to be fair to the gaffer, he's come in and he's motivated everyone, he's pushed us on that extra gear.

“We know what quality we have, we’ve got so much quality - it’s really exciting.

“As long as we keep it tight at the back, we've got the quality to give any team a problem going forward.”

Hause played a key role in keeping a clean sheet during the win at Stoke.

The England Under-21 International praised his side’s ability to endure waves of Stoke pressure as they threw players forward in an attempt to get an equaliser in the second half.

“There’s going to be hard times against any Premier League opposition,” He said.

“They've got quality players in Shaqiri, Arnautovic and even Peter Crouch himself - Charlie Adam the list can go on.

“There’s so many quality players so we always knew that we were going to be under the cosh a bit.

“We did well to soak up the pressure and get through the bad patch in the game.

“Only being one nil up we knew that they always had the ability to do something.

“Charlie Adam kept having shots from the edge of the box, we did well to block the shots but I just knew that if we kept being under pressure.”

The 21-year-old defender says that it he was determined to give the manager something to think about.

“If you know what type of people we are, we always want to do well,” Hause said and added: “We always want to be in the team so when I was given the opportunity today, I just wanted to take it.

“I just wanted to take my opportunity, I wanted to give the gaffer something to think about.

“I’m sure Mike (Williamson), Evo' (Lee Evans) and Dom (Dominic Iorfa) will have wanted to do the same.

“We’re just determined and motivated to grasp the opportunity.”
