It's Gone Great For Him

Kenny Jackett believes Dave Edwards' involvement in UEFA European Championships 2016 is great for him and for the Club.

Edwards' Wales side take on Belgium in the quarter-finals of the competition on Friday night and Jackett explained that the Dragons have every right to be there.

He said: "They're a side I don't think anybody would want to play at the moment. It's going to be an interesting finish to the competition and they're in there on merit - they deserve it.

"They don't give away many goals and in attacking areas they have key men, like Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey. They have a good formula and deserve to be where they are.

"I'm sure they're looking forward to doing their best to try to progress from the last eight."

Wolves' Head Coach, discussing Edwards' involvement, added: "It’s exciting for him and great for us that he’s involved.

"He’s had a start and some substitute appearances so it’s great that he’s close to it. It's gone great for him.

"It's good that we've got Dave involved, and terrific that he's had one start and other sub appearances.

"He's earned his place in that squad. It's terrific for him and for Wolves. He's as dedicated a professional as you'd want to meet, very hard-working.

"When people like that get success it's great to see.

With Wolves' pre-season beginning this week, Edwards' return to Compton Park will be delayed. But all has been accounted for as the midfielder continues the campaign with his national side in France.

Jackett said: "We've been planning for every person and their return date. It seems strange that we're back and he hasn't even finished his season yet!

"We'll have to see what happens. As our season gets underway he'll want to be there. And physical fitness for him has never been anything he's had to work too hard at - he's a very fit lad.

"He'll get the required amount of time off."
