Kenny Jackett says Wolves will make sure they are ready for the usual busy start to the Sky Bet Championship season when the players report back next week.
The release of the fixtures today has seen Wolves start with a trip to Rotherham on the opening day, which will be followed by a midweek EFL Cup tie, to be revealed in the draw for the first round this lunchtime.
There follows home games with Reading and Ipswich, and trips to Birmingham and Huddersfield, and the possibility of the second round of the cup all within the first month of the season.
“With the fixtures now out, we are all looking forward to getting back in for pre-season and getting back to work,” says the Head Coach.
“When you look at the list and see the standard of teams in the Championship, it is a big test for us.
“But it is a challenge we are certainly looking forward to.
“With the cup game, and the possibility of a second one if we get through, there could be seven games in August which will be a busy month.
“Now we know the fixtures we can really step up the planning to make sure we are ready and to make sure we acquit ourselves well.
“In terms of the teams in the division you never know how it will all turn out but we know it will be a good challenge.
“We have a six week pre-season starting next week when almost all of the players will be back and we will then be working towards being ready to go for that busy spell in August.”
