Jimenez | 'We have to keep going and look for the next result'

Raul Jimenez believes Wolves need to keep focused and not worry about the lack of goals which are coming from the team so far this season.

The striker came close to notching his first of the Premier League season against Brentford on Saturday lunchtime as he connected his head to an Adama Traore cross, but instead of nestling into the back of the net, the ball flashed wide of the upright, meaning Wolves have now only scored two goals in their opening five top-flight matches.

On falling to Brentford

“When we conceded the goal from the penalty, we have to keep focused on the game. I think we lost it in 10 or 15 minutes and we didn’t know what happened.

“But we have to keep focused, we have to keep going and look for the next result.”

On partnership with Traore not firing

“We have to keep going, keep looking for it. We haven’t been linking really well, and today we had a good opportunity, he crossed and I did the header, but it went out.

“But this is just working, and if we do that, we’re going to get there again.”

On not testing Raya

“This is football. Sometimes it happens and sometimes it doesn’t. We’d have liked to have done that and put the chances in the goal.

“We had some opportunities and we had bad luck in the first-half when the shot of Adama hit the crossbar, and in the second-half we had some more opportunities that we didn’t finish as we want.

“But we have to keep working. We have another game now in the middle of the week, an important game, so we have to keep going.”

On aiming to give fans a win

“They know how we play, they know how much of a good team we are, so they’re not going to be happy today.

“But they’re going to be with us, keep on supporting us and this is why we are Wolves and we are all together.”
