Neto excited to reunite with childhood friend Trincao

Pedro Neto is thrilled to be reunited with his “good friend” Trincao after the winger joined Wolves on a season-long loan from Barcelona recently.

Hailing from the same town in Portugal, Neto and Trincao came through the Braga youth system together, playing for the first-team side by side, before going separate ways to Wolves and Barcelona. Linking up with the Portuguese national team, from under-17s to the senior team, the pair struck up a strong bond and will now be back fighting for the same cause in old gold during the 2021/22 season.

On his busy summer

“It was a difficult summer. I worked all the days. I had some time free too, but I’m looking forward to being back and it was a difficult summer for me because I worked hard.

“I was in Portugal, it was very good, but I’m doing the right things to be back.”

On first meeting Trincao

“So, I met Trincao in Vianense, our hometown. We were friends for a long time, I played with him at Braga too, I have been with him for a very long time.

“He’s a very good friend of mine and I hope to see him soon because it was a good signing, and he will help us a lot with his quality.”

On him coming to Wolves

“I’m very excited because, first of all, we are very good friends. I enjoy playing with him on the pitch, with the national team we used to play together always.

“So, I’m looking forward to it because he’s a very good guy, he’s a very good player, and I hope to see him soon.”

On what he’ll bring to Wolves

“He’s a very good player, with a good mentality. He has a very good vision of the game, he’s very good one against one and is an exciting guy to see. I’m looking forward to seeing him with us.”
