Traore: "We want to win every game"

Adama Traore insists the Wolves camp is hungry to win every match, regardless of the competition they’re taking part in.

Wolves enter their fourth competition of the 2019/20 season on Saturday, when hosting Manchester United in the Emirates FA Cup – a competition which captured the imagination of the club last season. However, Traore is only focused on the here and now, and has his targets set on bouncing back from defeat to Watford on New Year’s Day at the first opportunity.

On a new competition to focus on

“Every game for me is a challenge, I don’t want to lose, whatever the game is. If it’s the FA Cup, Carabao Cup, Europa League or Premier League, any game I want to win, this is true.

“This is the mentality of the team as well. Whatever the game, we want to win it.”

On repeating last year’s success

“Speaking of Wembley is too far, we have to focus on the first step, after getting there I speak about how it feels to be there, but it’s too far away.

“The first game we have in front of us, we prepare ourselves and give the best we can.”

On bouncing back

“It was a sad day for us because we lost (on Wednesday), so we have to watch our errors, and keep going, focusing on the next game.

“I can use excuses of many games, but it’s not the point, they have many games too, there are no excuses. We didn’t win, but we’ll bounce back.”

On improving as an individual

“I’m never satisfied with myself when the team loses. I have to keep working, many things to improve, there’ve been amazing moments, but I have to work to be the best I can be every day.

“New year, new challenges, and with the right mind and work everything will be good.”
