Hause joins Aston Villa on loan

Wolves defender Kortney Hause has joined Aston Villa on loan until the end of the season with an option for a permanent transfer in the summer.

The former England under-21 international has been popular member of the first-team squad following his move to Molineux in January 2014 from Wycombe Wanderers.

Since his arrival at Wolves, the 23-year-old appeared more than 80 times in all competitions, with almost 70 of those in the Championship, scoring two goals in the 2016/17 campaign where he played an important role in the Wolves defence.

Hause’s time in the starting line-up have been limited in recent seasons, with his most recent appearances in gold and black coming in the 2018/19 Carabao Cup.

In his two appearances this season, he was part of a backline which kept clean sheets in both matches – a 2-0 victory over Sheffield Wednesday in the second round and a penalty shoot-out defeat to Leicester City after the match finished goalless.

Off the pitch, Hause is an accomplished musician, recently helping Wolves Foundation in its search to find its Premier League Writing Stars champion – a competition which saw schoolchildren across Wolverhampton create works of poetry centred on the theme of diversity.

Everyone at Wolves would like to wish Kortney the very best of luck during his spell at Villa Park.
