Gibbs-White excited by the FA Cup

Morgan Gibbs-White is relishing the challenge of the FA Cup, a competition which holds significance for the youngster.

Two years ago Gibbs-White made his Wolves debut in the FA Cup at Stoke City and will hope for minutes in this season’s competition on Monday.

Liverpool are the visitors to Molineux and the midfielder wants Wolves to produce a positive response after defeat to the Reds before Christmas.

On the FA Cup

“It’d be good to go on a cup run this season, but we’re preparing for Liverpool now and we’ll have to wait and see come Monday. We’ll be ready, but I’m sure Liverpool will be too, and it’ll be a good game.

“It’s a magnificent cup to be in, especially when we were in the Championship, being able to play against higher-positioned teams, and now we’re in the Premier League we can experience that regularly.”

On Monday’s test

“It’s going to be another test for us. We played them in the Premier League a couple of weeks ago, but it didn’t end too well. At Molineux on Monday we’ve got to prove to everyone that we can compete against them and prove everyone wrong.”

On Liverpool

“I watched them play Man City and it was a good game, where both teams battled well. I’m sure they’ll want to bounce back from a loss and try to get a victory on Monday, but we’ll have to stop them at Molineux.”
