History Books | Norwich City

Although not a vintage season for Wolves, they did enjoy their trip to Tuesday’s opponents, Norwich City back in 1995/96, when legendary striker Steve Bull was at the double.

With both sides needing points to avoid slipping into relegation trouble, the victory proved valuable for Mark McGhee, who was the third man to manage Wolves that season.

Following on from Graham Taylor and Bobby Downes (caretaker), McGhee was at the helm at Carrow Road and watched Bull give his side the ideal start on 12 minutes.

The Canaries rallied however, and had turned the game on its head within 13 minutes, as Ian Crook and Darren Eadie put them in front.

Bull restored parity before the break however, and left it to Don Goodman to bag the winner in front of 14,691 supporters at Carrow Road.

The match programme and ticket are amongst the history items in the Molineux Museum archives.
