2026/27 third kit revealed

Wolves have today revealed the club’s 2026/27 third kit, the black edition, completing the Alchemy of 1877 trilogy, which has run throughout the summer in celebration of the club's 150th anniversary.

Where the away shirt captured the white of transformation and the home shirt the final turning to old gold, the third kit takes supporters back to the very start of the process – the darkening of base metals before the change begins.

It is a deliberate return to the origin of the alchemy, and a direct nod to the club's motto, ‘Out of darkness cometh light’. Together, the 2026/27 kits are the embodiment of that idea.

The kit | The Alchemist's beginning

The shirt uses the same intricate knit execution as the home shirt, with the coat of arms pattern subtly woven into the black fabric and accented by sharp gold trims. It is designed as a genuine crossover piece – engineered for the pitch, styled for the street.

The shirt also carries the club's WW150 logo lock-up on the back, marking the kit as a lasting part of the club's history.

As with every kit in the collection, SUDU worked in close collaboration with first-team players throughout development, ensuring the fit and fabrics perform as well as the shirt looks.

Within the club

Club historian Peter Crump said: “Two years ago, when we started talk of our 150 anniversary, we felt the two change shirts should be white and black, this also appeared to be the sentiment of the fans too. I’m pleased to see the final shirt for this season, I really like the simplicity and tidiness of the shirt but also the pattern is in the background like the home shirt too, which is a nod to Wolverhampton.

“It was the most sensible and appropriate colour to pick for our third shirt. Our first black away shirt arrived in 2003 but for a long time they were not allowed due to black being reserved for officials. Since then, we have had quite a few and they have always been well received.

“I think it’s another excellent shirt and an ideal addition to the 150-shirt collection. Once again, our supporters were involved in the consultations with the Wolves Museum and they have played their part in all of our shirts in a big way.”

The goalkeeper kit | Electric energy for 150th season

Paired with the outfield shirt is the 2026/27 third goalkeeper shirt. Taking the striped heritage design and dialling it up in limelight yellow, it is a high-visibility, high-performance kit built to be seen from the first minute to the last.

Celebrating 150 years

In 1877, a spark was lit at St Luke's that would grow into the heart and soul of a city. To mark its 150th anniversary, the 2026/27 collection honours the journey of Wolves through the lens of alchemy, from the dark, base metals and industry of the club's humble beginnings to the ‘whitening’ heat of its growth, and finally into the iconic old gold. The collection is a tribute to the players, the history, and above all the fans who have turned this club into something precious.
