Gomes picks up Monster Player of the Month award

Joao Gomes has been voted Wolves’ Monster Player of the Month after an impressive February for the Brazilian international.

The midfielder shone at club level throughout the month, before continuing that form for his country recently, as he scored the first brace of his professional career, while also notching the first assists of the season.

Gomes’ performances helped Wolves to a successful February on the pitch, as the side earned themselves nine Premier League points as well as winning in the fifth round of the FA Cup.

As he continues to develop under Gary O’Neil, the 23-year-old claimed an assist as Wolves travelled to Stamford Bridge, setting up fellow Brazilian Matheus Cunha for the first of his hat-trick goals.

The midfielder produced another impressive showing on the road as Wolves took the spoils at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, starring in the capital as he scored twice to secure the three points for the Old Gold.

Supporters voted Gomes as Wolves’ Monster Player of the Month for February, with the Brazilian picking up 46 per cent of the vote, ahead of Mario Lemina in second and Pedro Neto in third.
