The goalkeeper is taking inspiration from last season’s cup run as the popular competition returns and fronts the matchday programme as Manchester United come to town.
He sat down to discuss how he’s hoping for another run in the FA Cup, with snippets of his interview below, and the full version available in the matchday programme.
“We’re hoping we can go one better than last year’s FA Cup run. If we can go one more and get to the final, we’d be giving ourselves a great opportunity of winning the trophy. We were disappointed to go out of the Carabao Cup, but we’ve been excellent in the Premier League and Europa League this season, so a cup run is the aim.
“The United game was brilliant last year, a great night. It was a really good performance from us, I thought we out-played them for the whole game and that was the story of what we were doing last year. Knowing what was at stake with the next game made it brilliant – it’s great for us when we can play in atmospheres like that night.
“We were playing well at the time in all competitions and a cup run builds momentum. Then, Wembley was another big day, but ultimately disappointing with what happened. We gave ourselves a great opportunity and felt extremely disappointed that we didn’t capitalise on it. This year, the way we’ve been going in every competition, it’s a chance to put our stamp on the FA Cup.”
The 100-page programme will available for £3.50 from around Molineux pre-match and online here.
