Great Big Art Auction raises incredible total

An incredible £34,000 has been raised for charity by the Great Big Art Auction and a special Raul Jimenez-themed raffle, run by Louise Cobbold and her Sports Personalities company during the 2018/19 campaign.

This season’s project has seen Louise produce stunning artworks which have provided an eye-catching front to the official matchday programmes for Wolves’ return to the Premier League.

The most familiar format of artwork has seen Wolves players fused with a member of the opposition, generating huge interest in the programme and art auctions.

Four Great Big Art Auctions have run across the season, with the raffle in the spring helping to take the overall total to over £34,000.

The funds will be split evenly between four worthy charities in Cure Leukaemia, Race Against Blood Cancer, YMCA Black Country and Good Shepherd Ministry Wolverhampton.

The five pieces which raised the highest funds across the course of the season were as follows:

  • Rui Patricio: £2,228
  • Conor Coady/Raul Jimenez: £1,800
  • Pep Guardiola: £1,385
  • Ruben Neves: £1,380
  • Joao Moutinho: £1,340

In addition, Louise’s brilliant painting of Billy Wright holding the First Division trophy, used on the cover of the club’s Brighton & Hove Albion programme, brought in £950 for Wolves Foundation on their dedicated fixture day.

This season’s project has continued the impressive work Louise and Sports Personalities have put into the community, which has seen them raise over £50,000 for charity to date.
