Worldwide Wolves celebrate award winners

Wolves supporters from across the globe came together before last Saturday’s Premier League victory against Fulham at Molineux for the first Worldwide Wolves Awards.

Among the awards, which celebrated the growing collection of official Wolves supporter clubs, were UK Supporters Club of the Year, Overseas Supporters Club of the Year and Clubman of the Year.

Ahead of the final home match of the season, the Worldwide Wolves Lounge was packed to capacity minutes after opening its doors at 12pm for the special awards ceremony.

Supporter clubs from all corners of the world, including Sweden, South Africa, Australia, Norway, Germany, Qatar, Ireland, Dubai, Spain, New York, Amsterdam and Punjabi Wolves were joined by former Wolves midfielder and League Cup winner Steve Daley as the prizes were awarded to:

UK Supporters Club of the Year – Telford Wolves

  • Mark Hadley’s group won a signed home Wolves shirt for their club which will be on display in the Worldwide Wolves Lounge. Telford Wolves also presented their Player of the Season award to Joao Moutinho following the match.

Overseas Supporters Club of the Year – Irish Wolves

  • Tony Lawlor’s branch won a signed away Wolves shirt which will take pride and place in the Worldwide Wolves Lounge.

Clubman of the Year – Phil Painter

  • Phil, a member of Berlin Wolves and Molineux Mix, won the award after being instrumental in helping to launch Worldwide Wolves in its inaugural season. Phil was awarded a Worldwide Wolves ‘Honours Cap’ which will be displayed at Molineux in a growing hall of fame.

Worldwide Wolves, the official network of more than 100 different Wolves supporter clubs, brings fans together on matchdays in the Worldwide Wolves Lounge, which is located in the Steve Bull Stand.
