Club finalises key appointments

Organisational structure under Fosun takes shape

Kevin Thelwell Appointed as Sporting Director

Laurie Dalrymple Appointed as Managing Director

Assistant Head Coach and Team General Manager confirmed

Jez Moxey departs for Norwich City, with structure and appointments in place.

Wolves have announced a new club organisational structure and made a series of key appointments, as the new era under Fosun takes shape.

The existing Chief Executive remit has been split into two parts: with new Sporting Director and Managing Director roles created.

Kevin Thelwell, who joined Wolves in 2008 as Academy Manager before becoming Head of Football Development & Recruitment, has been promoted to Sporting Director with responsibility for all football-related matters, including recruitment, operations, and coach education.

Laurie Dalrymple, currently Wolves’ Head of Commercial, has become the Club’s new Managing Director, responsible for all off-the-pitch matters, such as commercial, ticketing and the stadium.

Both roles will report directly into main Wolves Board Director, Jeff Shi.

Andrea Butti, former Assistant Technical Director at Monaco and Press and Team Manager at Inter Milan will fulfil a new role of Team General Manager, reporting into Walter Zenga. He will help to co-ordinate the activities of the first team and technical staff, including managing logistics and operations, along with off the pitch requests for Wolves' first team squad.

Meanwhile, Stefano Cusin has been confirmed as Head Coach Walter Zenga’s assistant with all the contract formalities completed. Stefano has extensive coaching and managerial experience in many different countries, including stints in Europe, Africa and Asia, and has worked with Walter on several occasions previously.

With the new structure in place, and two current serving senior members of staff promoted to these key roles, Jez Moxey has been released early from his notice period and will spend his last day at Wolves saying goodbye to staff and colleagues today.

Jeff Shi, main Wolves Director, said: "I'm delighted with the new structure and I'd like to congratulate all the staff - both existing and new colleagues - who've been appointed to these key roles.

"The new structure will ensure complete focus on securing positive first team results.

"It will also ensure proper attention is paid to developing the Club off the pitch so we are ready to realise all our ambitions for Wolves.

"Kevin's promotion is very well deserved and his appointment will help to ensure the excellence of our football structure continues across all the age groups.

“Having been Head of Commercial Affairs for almost two years, Laurie has overseen substantial growth in the Commercial department, and has formed excellent working relationships with everyone at the Club.

“His work at Wolves, and wealth of experience with other sports venues and organisations, makes him well placed to step up to the role of Managing Director.

"I'm also delighted that Stefano's and Andrea's contract formalities have been completed and we welcome these excellent new people to the Wolves team who will play key roles going forward in supporting Walter and the squad.

"They both arrive at Wolves having experienced a number of different clubs across Europe and the world and I'm sure their assistance will be very important.

"We've implemented this structure much more quickly and smoothly than we could have wished for and on that basis we have agreed to release Jez to begin his new adventure at Norwich.

"Once again, we thank him for his 16 years of outstanding service - and his professionalism and diligence during the takeover and transition - and we wish Jez and his family all the very best as they begin a new chapter in their lives."
