Steve Davis’ young team begin their campaign with a Molineux debut as their quest for glory in the prestigious youth competition gets underway against the League Two club’s development side.
Several members of the under-18s are already regular fixtures in training with Bruno Lage and the Molineux fixture will give a chance for supporters to see some of the Academy’s brightest stars up close.
After their league clash against Nottingham Forest on Saturday, Davis admitted this evening’s side will be made up of the older members of his squad, as well as the younger members of James Collins’ under-23s who are still eligible for the competition.
Wolves will be aiming to do better than their efforts last season, which saw the side fall to Norwich City in the third round at St George’s Park. However, the team will take heart in the 2019/20 FA Youth Cup campaign, which saw Wolves win successive matches at Molineux against Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace, before falling to the eventual runners-up, Chelsea.
Salford reached this stage of the competition after an extra-time win over Port Vale in the second round, while their under-18s are currently third in the Youth Alliance Group B table, but with three games in hand over the teams above, having won eight out of the 10 league fixtures this season.
Wolves TV will not be streaming this evening’s match, so the only way to watch the action will be live from Molineux.
Tickets must be bought in advance and will not be available on the turnstiles. Tickets are priced at £3 for adults and £2 for concessions and under-17s.

WHAT THE BOSS THINKS
Following the draw for the third round, Steve Davis said the Wolves Academy players were looking forwards to facing Salford, especially as they have the chance to step out at Molineux – some of his squad for the first time.
“The players will be excited to play in the FA Youth Cup. They were really keen on seeing who we were going to draw, and as soon as we knew it was Salford, they were all talking about it.
“It’s always something the young players look forward to and a game they want to play in. We’ve got a reasonable squad of players this year who will all be looking forward to the game.
“For us, it’s another game, but it’s a prestigious competition that the players always look forward to playing in, especially when it’s at Molineux.
“It’s obviously a nice experience to play on your home ground, in a stadium, and hopefully we can get a few people in to watch and create a good atmosphere. That would be a great experience for them.”
