Bueno | 'We'll go there to win the game'

Hugo Bueno is confident that if Wolves head to Tottenham Hotspur with the same attitude as midweek, they’ll have every chance of getting a result.

The Old Gold may be without a point in the Premier League, but they put that to one side to beat Everton in the Carabao Cup, with Bueno impressing at left-back, after Vitor Pereira reverted to a back four for the first time at Molineux.

It was the perfect response to a disappointing defeat to Leeds United last weekend, but Bueno knows these are still early days for the group, and if they maintain their positive application, then results will follow.

On the mood in the camp

“It's always good to get to those winning habits. I think it's really important for the team to get the confidence up and to feel that we can beat anyone. It was a tough day for everyone [against Leeds], but we all know it's just the beginning.

“We have plenty of work to do and to show to everyone that we are here to do much, much better. We knew we had to change a lot of things in training to go on the pitch, and I think we showed the other day against Everton in the cup that with good attitude and good habits, we could win the game for sure, because the quality is there.”

On players staking a claim

“We have a really big squad right now, and we know everyone can play. Everyone is here to help. So, at the moment, we don't really know exactly who's going to play, and I think that's good, to just keep you alert and give you the feeling that you have to do everything you can to play. The most important thing is that everyone's fit, everyone's ready to help, and then whatever the manager decides, it will be good.”

On looking to Tottenham

“I can't wait, to be honest. It's a beautiful stadium, a great opponent. People can say it's difficult to go there and win, but for me it’s the perfect situation, because you play football, since you are a kid, to play games like this one, so hopefully everyone goes with the right attitude, I'm pretty sure we will, and we go there to win the game. So, let's see.

“In this league everyone can beat everyone really, it doesn't matter the situation. We know they are a good team, they have great manager and very good players, but we have them as well. So why not? I think the team should go with the right attitude and I think we have a good chance to win the first Premier League game.”

On the new players catching the eye

“I really like the quality that [Jhon] Arias has. I think he's such a talented player. He is not the biggest in height, but so strong. He can definitely help us a lot with his quality and also his experience, because inside our team we need players with that experience as well. Hopefully he can show it Saturday as well.

“I think Fer [Lopez] has a really good left foot and can bring us a lot of good moments and quality as well.”

On approaching 50 Premier League games

“It feels really good to play that many games in the best league in the world, for me. Hopefully there’s many more, but it feels really good.”
