Mosquera | 'We are professional and it’s an important game'

Yerson Mosquera can feel the belief returning to this Wolves group and insists there’s even more to come.

The Colombian is enjoying a productive run in the side and has impressed during the Old Gold’s three-match unbeaten run, even starting the move which led to Mateus Mane’s equaliser at Everton on Wednesday evening.

It’s Shrewsbury Town up next in the Emirates FA Cup, and the defender has called for the correct professionalism and mentality, which will be needed if Wolves are to progress at Molineux on Saturday.

On a positive change in momentum

“It’s important to believe. We are confident because we took five points from the last three games. It’s really good because they were not easy games. I believe in everyone, and I know we can do much better. We can win more games with our supporters. We are very appreciative of the support. They continue to support us, and we’ll give good results for them.

“Saturday is a good game. They are a good team, and we need to see how they play. We are professional, we need to keep going, because it’s an important game as well, in our home. We need to win and that’s the mentality for us.”

On an eventful Everton trip

“A point was really positive for us. It was a really difficult game, away at Everton. They have good players, so it’s a hard place to play. I feel somewhere between happy and a little bit sad because we want to win, of course. We tried to do everything to win.

“First half was hard for us because we had a short time to recover, but we are professional, we need to keep going and improve, and to get to our level. Second half we had more chances, and we created more situations. The most important is how we did after the break. Of course, we lost the first half, but we improved and got a good result.

“Everyone was talking about how we could improve at half-time because we have good players and we are in a good moment. We know it’s difficult away, but we keep going. After, you could see how everyone is working and one point is good for us.”

The equalising goal

“Larsen said my name and I looked forward, so I played it to him because he was alone, and after he did a good pass to Mane to score a great goal. Mane’s a good player. Everyone’s talking about him but he’s young. He needs to be calm because this is football, this is the Premier League, and he needs to keep going. We’ll be here to help him.”
